NFC data stays localScans, UIDs, payloads, history and saved tags remain on your device.
No account requiredCore NFC features work without creating an NFC Root account.
Exports are deliberateLibrary data leaves the app only when you choose to export or share it.
Analytics exclude tag dataUsage measurement never includes NFC UIDs, payloads, notes or saved content.
Information stored on your device
NFC Root may store tag identifiers, detected tag type, memory information, writable status, full NDEF payload bytes, nicknames, notes, labels, favorites, scan dates and scan counts. This information supports Scan History and your intentional Saved Tag Library. It remains in the app's local storage until you delete it, clear history, uninstall the app or export it yourself.
Analytics and diagnostics
The Android app may use Google Firebase Analytics to understand feature engagement, app version, general device characteristics, acquisition source and crash-free usage. Analytics events must not contain NFC tag UIDs, NDEF payloads, saved tag names, notes, contact details or Wi-Fi credentials. Platform privacy controls may limit analytics collection.
Permissions and phone features
NFC permission is used to scan and write tags. Vibration supports haptic feedback. Internet access supports features such as resolving a Google Maps share link into a review link and optional analytics. Settings or shortcut actions require visible user approval where the operating system requires it. NFC Root cannot silently access payment-card secrets, secure hotel keys or protected access credentials.
Sharing, retention and deletion
We do not sell NFC data. Library JSON exports and content you share are controlled by you and are handled by the destination you select. Delete individual saved tags in the Library, clear disposable Scan History in Settings, or uninstall NFC Root to remove local app data. Analytics retention is governed by the configured Firebase project and Google's privacy controls.
Children, security and changes
NFC Root is a general utility and is not directed to children under 13. We use reasonable technical safeguards, but no software or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Material policy changes will be posted here with a revised date.
